CAIRO—Because the Center East prepares to rejoice the Islamic pageant of Eid al-Adha, many throughout the area say they’ll’t afford the livestock for the customary sacrifice ritual and are reducing again on the household feast due to soaring food prices.
“Everybody I do know who used to slaughter an animal is just not doing it this 12 months,” stated Attwa Mohammed, a 41-year-old trainer who lives together with his spouse and three youngsters in a small city in northern Egypt. “Costs have gone up by insane quantities in every single place.”
