Chile’s Villarrica volcano emits steam and different volcanic gases on this photograph taken from the Worldwide Area Station on Jan. 17, 2023. The gases come from a sequence of minor explosions—known as Strombolian eruptions—which were ongoing at Villarrica since October 2022.
